What I Love About My Job

I have the best job ever. I get to meet new people and helping them with their decorating dilemmas and preparing their home for a quick sale is very rewarding. I get to use innovative and creative theatrical tricks. It’s fun, interesting and every situation is different, always with a few challenges thrown in for spice.

Bio

Susan V. PhillipsAuthor, Designer and Home Stager Susan Phillips became interested in design at a very early age. “It began when I watched my mother fashion fabulous ball gowns for Queen Elizabeth’s court in London, England.”

It was about 30 years ago that Susan first became involved in Community Theater in Canada. When she designs a set for the theater, she is very mindful to make the set authentic to the script and to the playwright’s vision. By using some attention-grabbing hooks, she draws the audience into the production and transports them into another world.

She uses those same successful tricks when designing a clients home or staging a seller’s home. Most buyers, the audience, are looking for a lifestyle that will improve on their current everyday world. Susan showcases homes by using attention-grabbing hooks that reflect a buyer’s ideal lifestyle and to fulfill their dreams.

Spotlight on Decor reflects Susan’s passion for interior decoration in both play and profession and her clients are fortunate to benefit from her unique experiences.
