Studio

This Studio started life as a bedroom with a walk-in closet. It was quickly claimed to be the place where all the creative juices are supposed to flow. However with a bright red carpet, brown, fake wood paneled walls and one lonely, solitary 40w bulb, the creative juices were in danger of drying up.

Our inspiration colours were drawn from a single piece of fabric purchased to cover the chair. We selected creamy white walls with deep blue and natural oak accents. The red carpet was simply overlaid with a floating laminate oak floor; this extra layer offers additional warmth in the cold months. The wood paneled walls were painted white with a soft ragged overlay of cream. Using a ragging technique on paneled wall helps disguise imperfections and provides texture. We installed a diffused fluorescent fixture to flood the room with light. Additional task lights were placed throughout the room. To complete the look we painted the cupboards and drawer fronts with out accent blue.

White can give you a feeling of freedom and uncluttered openness. Blue inspires mental control, clarity, and creativity. We now have the freedom and clarity to get creative juices free flowing.

Testimonials

I attended one of your courses; very helpful. And, I purchased 6 of your books; 1 for myself and the rest for for friends & family. We each find them useful in day-to-day home organizing.
Thank you so much for your suggestions and continuing advice. It’s a book to live with in addition to presenting a property for sale!
I live my life more organized which leads to less stress and a better feeling of success.
Kudos to you!
With much appreciation, Tammy
